Overpriced. The food is good but the portions are small. We ate in the after a round of Golf. 3 of us had the fish special one had a chicken salad. One friend had a glass of wine for $12 ( are you serious?) The chicken salad was $30 (are you serious?) The fish was $26 ( are you serious? Plus I had to search for the fish). This restaurant is in a rural area where people have an average of $14 /hour wage. This is not Toronto where the average is up at $20/hour. Good luck with your restaurant.

Great addition to the local area. Founder's House services a niche clientele looking for a meal that's a step above what's currently offered. They also have elevated "pub fare" selections and some reimagined classics. I've had the opportunity to see a large variety of the plates that are available and can confidently say there are plenty of options for gluten free folks, and even some keto-friendly eats available. Some of the portions are on the smaller side but I am in the business of eating quality not quantity.

We had an excellent dinner at Founders House. The service was friendly, efficient and very timely. Moreover, the meals (pork loin, chicken and a vegetarian dish were verytasty and the plate presentation was most appealing. The portions were generous, but not overwhelming. The menu was extensive with several vegetarian choices and a section of the menu offered over 6 non-alcoholic drink choices.Desserts were very delectable.Overall, we had one of the more memorable meal experiences we have had. We have eaten in countries all of over the world and this meal was among the tops.We will definitely return!!Hats off to the staff!!!

Amazing poached lobster, then we had the most amazing Halibut done in a mushroom cream sauce -with the most amazing fresh taste ever, and the gnocchi with blue cheese (dragons breath) which was outstanding. - it had walnuts and truffle honey! Then we had homemade blackberry shorbet and a lemon tart that made me cry it was so good. Great job - amazing food!

This was a pretty bad experience overall unfortunately. When we arrived we chose to sit outside at the only other vacant table that had an umbrella as it was very sunny that day, but it had not been cleared or cleaned yet. It took 5 minutes before anyone came to bring us menus. When she did come, we had to point out that the table was not cleaned (there were dirty dishes and a cleaning spray bottle on the table). Her response to us was Okay. So THIS is the table you chose... as if we were inconveniencing her by not choosing another clean table. It then took another 10 minutes until our server came out to greet us and answer menu questions. She did not bring water with her so we had to ask. That took another 5-10 minutes. To be at a restaurant for 20+ minutes in 30 degrees without water was not exactly the best way to start off. We ordered our food and waited. And waited. Had it been extremely busy I could maybe understand. But there was only one other couple outside on the patio and they were finishing up their meal. Inside there were 3 or 4 couples but that is it. When I went to the washroom I saw 5 or 6 staff members congregated around the bar just hanging out talking. When our food finally came (over an hour) it was disappointing. The turkey wrap would have been good had it not been covered in so much sauce it was soggy and dripping. The fried chicken was fine but nothing special. The fries were cold. The veggie flatbread was decent. We all had salads and they were disgusting. Absolutely drenched in dressing it was like a soup. I had asked for a vinaigrette dressing but was brought a salad with a creamy dressing. All salads also had way too many seeds. And the worst part - frozen strawberries. We then ordered coffees which were brought out with no spoons to stir cream or sugar. I asked for one and it was never brought so I went to find cutlery on some random staff table in the corner and just used a knife to stir. The chocolate dessert was overpriced for the taste and it also had nasty old soggy frozen strawberries. I heard that the local strawberries had been ruined this year but you can still get strawberries that dont look like theyve just come out of a canned jam jar and left in a puddle on the plate. This experience was a real bummer because I was so hopeful about this new spot. Im hoping this lengthy review helps to iron out some obvious kinks and improve this restaurant overall because the location is beautiful and the decor is so nice. I would go back for a couple of drinks and maybe try an appetizer because of the view but for now Im hesitant to spend too much money here again.
