We ordered the special which was lobster rose on housemade fettuccine. It was delicious! My husband had seafood chowder which was very flavorful! For dessert we had the mini chocolate mouse and carrot cake. Everything we had was well prepared, presented and tasted really good! The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was nice. We highly recommend this restaurant. It's located on Main Street which is nice to walk along in the evening. We loved our visit to Annapolis Royal!
Excellent food! Great restaurant for couples/ adults. Reasonable priced for how good the food is! I wish the kids menu were a bit more robust and we paid full price for a chicken quesadilla for our 6 year old that was with only cheese BC the kids menu didn't have anything on it she would have eaten .
I don't know where everyone else here has been dining, but maybe we just caught the cook on a bad day. Regardless, this place was the most nonsensical, stupidly-run and poorest-quality eatery of any kind for our entire East coast trip this year - right behind another restaurant in Quebec City, the latter where we were literally threatened by the owner and employees there over their demanding a tip. At least here they had friendly service, but that's no excuse for the complete lack of quality control or even effort in general. We ordered three very basic dishes, which took at least an hour to get to us. I've seen more competent cooks in a daycare. Rubber chicken that was clearly flash-fried to look good on the outside after we complained about the wait, a grilled cheese sandwich that looked like any mom could slap together for her kid in one minute, and a thoroughly "meh" mushroom melt sandwich, all of which should not have cost what we paid for them. The presentation was pure elementary school cafeteria and the quality was just plain unforgivable. Heck, we didn't even get what we requested - undercooked potatoes that could double as hockey pucks instead of the rice we asked for, in this instance. By that point we didn't want to nor had time to wait forever for a re-do and were starving. This is one of those restaurants that looks busy because it's full of people waiting for their dishes. A couple next to us waited just as long and were clearly livid. I'm surprised they didnt walk out like two other groups did who sat at the patio and received no service. I've never eaten anyplace where the waitress feels guilty and comes over to ask if we need anything TWICE before the food even arrives because it takes so long. No disrespect intended, but I'll be sure we skip this damn place if we're ever in the area again.
The quality of food is good, but not excellent. Thus, prices are very high for what you have on your plate, except for the pizza. It is hard to justify a 14$ price for 4 scallops. Good only for special occasions.
My husband and myself had lunch here today and are going back for dinner tonight. The service was excellent as was the freshly made food. We have been in Nova Scotia for six days and this was the best food experience I have had while here. My husband is a foody
